James & Michael Wedding

November 30, 2017

On September 30th, I got to be a part of James and Michael’s wedding!  I used to work with James when I was a lawyer, and he was one of my business clients at the company.  We’ve stayed in touch since I left, and he called me when he and Michael decided to get married and asked me to be his photographer!  It was such an honor, and so much more fun than being his business lawyer!  🙂

James and Michael had so many friends and family to celebrate their wedding.  They’ve been together for 21 years and their wedding was a very special moment for them and all of the people who love them.  They also asked me to photograph a dinner they hosted at their house on Friday night, and especially wanted to capture all of their friends and family arriving and having fun together.   Here are some of the highlights from that evening.

Now, onto the wedding!  They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful Windows on Minnesota, which is downtown and has striking views of the city of Minneapolis.  James and Michael were both so happy all day.  It was fun to see them smiling from ear to ear, and enjoying time with all of the people who came out to celebrate their marriage.

They had an emotional ceremony, led by their longtime friend Paula, and full of family and friends.  After the ceremony we ran downstairs in the IDS Crystal Court for some champagne and a minute for them to soak in the day.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails in the beautiful space, and then dinner and lots of dancing.  This group tore up the dance floor, and may have even inspired me to put down my camera and join in for a while.  🙂

It was an honor to be a part of James and Michael’s special day.  I wish them a lifetime of happiness!
